Privacy Policy

Effective date: March 24, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information when you access or use the Measurement Tool online survey and related services (the “Service”). In this document, “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to the operator identified in Section 1 below.

This policy describes our handling of personal information in general. Where Australian law or other applicable law requires consent for a particular use, we will ask for it separately at the relevant time (for example, before you begin the survey). Acknowledging this policy or continuing to use the Service does not, by itself, replace any separate consent where the law requires it.

1. Who is operating the Service and collecting personal information

During this pre-launch testing phase, the Service is operated on behalf of the proposed Australian business Knowledge Edge. No incorporated Australian entity exists at the time of this policy’s effective date.

If and when a business is incorporated in Australia, this Privacy Policy will be updated to identify the incorporated entity (for example, Knowledge Edge Pty Ltd), together with its Australian Company Number (ACN) and a business or service address, as the organisation responsible for personal information under applicable law.

Until that update, privacy enquiries and requests relating to the Service should be sent to: info@getconsultingedge.com.

2. Australian privacy (APPs) and this policy

Australia’s Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) apply to organisations that are covered by the Act. Many small businesses with annual turnover of A$3 million or less are exempt, but some small businesses are still covered depending on their activities, and a small business may also opt in voluntarily.

Whether or not the Act legally applies to us at every stage, we aim to handle personal information in line with APP-style expectations: openness, fairness, reasonable security, and clarity about collection, use, disclosure, overseas transfers, access, correction, and complaints. This policy is written in that spirit.

3. Scope

This policy applies to personal information we process through the Service (including sign-in, the survey, submission handling, report-related processing, and benchmark-related analytics described below). It does not govern third-party websites or services we do not operate.

4. Personal information we collect

We may collect:

How we collect and hold it

We collect personal information directly from you when you create an account, complete the survey, submit responses, or contact us. We also collect limited technical and usage information automatically through your use of the Service.

We store information using cloud service providers and other service providers that help us operate the Service, including providers such as Google and Firebase for authentication, storage, and related infrastructure.

5. Why we use personal information

We use personal information for the following purposes:

We do not use the Service to make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you without human involvement, except where permitted by law and clearly disclosed.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

We and our service providers use technologies that are common for web applications. These may include: session and authentication tokens managed by Firebase/Google to keep you signed in securely; browser storage (such as local storage) for draft survey responses on your device; and essential technical data needed to load the site and protect against abuse. We may use additional analytics or similar tools as the Service evolves; if we introduce non-essential tracking or analytics that are not strictly necessary to provide the Service, we will describe them here and, where required, seek your consent before they run.

7. Disclosure and overseas storage

We do not sell your personal information. We disclose it to service providers (such as Google and Firebase) who host or process data on our behalf under contractual arrangements. We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of participants, operators, or others. We may share information with professional advisers bound by confidentiality where necessary.

Personal information may be stored or processed in countries outside Australia (including where Google operates data centres). By using the Service, you understand that we disclose your personal information overseas when we use those providers. Where the European Union’s GDPR rules apply to any transfer, we rely on mechanisms such as standard contractual clauses as offered by our providers where relevant.

8. Retention

We retain account and submission data while the pre-launch testing program is active and afterwards only for as long as reasonably necessary for evaluation, troubleshooting, legal compliance, and transition to the full Service. We periodically review stored data and delete or de-identify it when it is no longer required for those purposes, subject to limited residual retention in backups where deletion is not technically immediate. If you ask us to delete your personal information, we will respond in line with Section 10 and applicable law.

9. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and least-privilege access for operational accounts. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we work to reduce risk in proportion to the nature of the information and the Service.

10. Access, correction, and other rights

Under the APPs and other applicable law, you may have rights to access and correct your personal information, and in some jurisdictions additional rights. To request access or correction, or to discuss other rights that may apply to you, contact us at info@getconsultingedge.com. We will respond within a reasonable time and, where the APPs apply, within any timeframe required by law. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests.

11. Complaints

If you believe we have interfered with your privacy, you may contact us at info@getconsultingedge.com. Please describe your concern in enough detail for us to investigate. We will review your complaint and respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may be able to complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC). The OAIC website explains how to lodge a complaint and when the OAIC can investigate.

12. Children

The Service is not directed at individuals under the age of 16 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the effective date. If changes are material (for example, who is the organisation responsible for personal information, or how we use or disclose data), we will provide additional notice or seek consent where required by law. We may record which version of this policy you accepted in the Service for accountability.
